SEN Teacher Location: Chesterfield Contract Type: Full time and long term (transitioning to permanent) Start Date: Immediately Available Pay: £150-£200 per day Job Summary: - Are you a qualified teacher with exceptional classroom and behaviour management? - Are you looking for a new full-time position with the view to become permanent? Bookmark are currently recruiting for a SEN Teacher for a fantastic setting in Chesterfield. The role will involve teaching small classes of pupils with SEN including: SEMH, ADHD, ODD, Dyslexia, Autism, mild learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. Excellent classroom and behaviour management are required due to the nature of the pupils, as well as a full drivers licence as local transport between sites may be required. Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of students with special educational needs and disabilities. • Collaborate with the school's SEND department and other professionals to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students. • Utilise a range of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to engage and support students in their learning. • Adapt and differentiate instruction to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, providing additional support or challenges as needed. • Keep accurate records of student progress, achievements, and any interventions or accommodations provided. • Attend meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting students with special educational needs. Requirements: • Proven experience as a SEND Teacher, preferably in a similar temporary capacity, with a strong understanding of different special educational needs and disabilities. • Knowledge of the relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in SEND education. • Ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional strategies to meet individual needs. • Familiarity with a range of teaching resources, assistive technologies, and interventions for supporting students with SEND. • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support students' social and emotional development. • Flexibility and adaptability to work with a diverse range of students and their unique needs. • Successful completion of background checks and any other necessary screening required by the recruitment agency and the school.
