We are seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1:2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, youll support students aged 10:19 with complex needs, including Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, and related conditions.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, youll play a vital role in supporting the learning, development, and well:being of our students in a nurturing and safe environment. Youll collaborate with the class teacher to deliver personalised learning activities, fostering independence, positive behaviour, and social and emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with planning and evaluating learning activities.
* Provide feedback on student progress and attainment.
* Monitor and report on student development, ensuring compliance with school policies.
* Support positive behaviour management, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
* Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural development in line with the schools curriculum.
Skills and Qualifications
* Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for student transport on a rota basis).
* GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) : essential.
* Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* Creative and positive approach to adapting to individual student needs.
