Muller Telford Yogurts & Desserts are recruiting for an Environment Health & Safety Advisor (EHS).
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (flexible).
The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of the EHS strategy within the local area for which they are responsible, support the deployment of the EHS management systems and controls, and assist in activities associated with monitoring and intervention to ensure EHS objectives and target commitments are achieved.
Responsibilities:
1. Communicate the MYD and EHS Strategy, objectives, and targets.
2. Adopt a proactive approach to addressing issues.
3. Develop positive relationships with stakeholders.
4. Monitor the application of EHS management systems & controls and their deployment in the workplace.
5. Understand EHS Management systems & controls and their deployment in the workplace.
6. Respond appropriately to the identification of poor/exemplar EHS practice.
7. Support the capture and collation of EHS performance data.
8. Implement data capture processes effectively.
9. Communicate information in a timely manner to key stakeholders.
10. Support the administration of the EHS function.
11. Work to tight deadlines.
12. Communicate information clearly and effectively.
13. Promote an exemplar EHS culture across their areas of responsibility and when representing Muller.
14. Demonstrate visible and credible EHS support.
15. Use effective communications to promote EHS.
16. Timely escalation of issues to supervision/management where appropriate.
Essential Specialist/Technical Skills / Abilities:
1. Holds one or more QCF/NQF Level 3 (or higher) qualifications.
2. Working towards (willing to, or currently) one or more QCF/NQF Level 5 (or higher) EHS qualifications.
3. If qualifications criteria are not met on entry into the role, plans should be established and delivered to ensure they are met within three years.
4. Typically holds more than three years of experience in applying HSE knowledge and processes in work-related situations.
5. Ideally a member, or is willing to work towards becoming a member, of an appropriate professional safety, health, and/or environmental institution and participant of a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme.
6. Has good experience in rendering advice on a broad range of EHS topic areas.
