The Role
We seek to appoint a highly motivated Assistant Progress Leader with experience of working with young people to join our dedicated Pastoral Team. The role will involve leading and inspiring a year group and a team of tutors with accountability for the academic, social, personal progress, and attendance of all pupils in the year group. The successful candidate will work collaboratively to contribute to an effective learning environment and maximize learning opportunities for each individual pupil.
We can offer the successful candidate an opportunity to work with a highly trained, supportive, and experienced Pastoral Team. We have a whole school commitment to professional development as we believe that the development of staff is key to raising standards for our pupils. As a member of the Wade Deacon Trust, we can offer numerous exciting opportunities to further develop your career.
You will be joining the Academy at a very exciting point in its journey to excellence. In March 2022, the school was judged to be ‘Good’ for the second consecutive time by Ofsted and has been oversubscribed for the last two years.
In this report, Ofsted highlighted the following about our school:
* Pupils said that Halewood Academy is a caring community.
* Leaders have high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and learning.
* Pupils achieve well, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
* Leaders take positive action to support the workload and wellbeing of staff.
* Staff are proud to work at Halewood Academy.
Our school is well-resourced and has a supportive and reflective Senior Leadership Team, Governing Body, and Multi Academy Trust. A comprehensive programme of CPD supports colleagues at all career stages; through the Multi-Academy Trust, we provide excellent career opportunities for our staff.
The Wade Deacon Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory medical clearance.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; therefore, applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions, as well as any adult cautions or spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020.
