Research Assistant (Variable hours, fixed-term until 30th December 2025)
You are invited to apply for the role of Research Assistant on a study examining the digital literacy expectations and understandings of planning students and employers, and how these influence the implementation of digital planning in practice. This study is funded by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Early Careers Research Grant and aims to improve the integration of digital skills within planning education and practice.
This is an opportunity for someone with an interest in digital planning and educational research. The research will focus on case studies in Greater London, the North East, South West, and West Midlands. You will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Charlotte Morphet, and Professor Silvia Gullino from Birmingham City University.
As the Research Assistant, you will support the research team in the delivery of the project. Your main duties will include assisting with the literature review, data collection, and data analysis, including managing a survey and focus group, as well as contributing to the write-up and dissemination of the findings.
You will work approximately 15 days over 7 months, starting on 19 May 2025 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and concluding on 30 December 2025. Flexible working is permitted; however, some travel will be required to conduct the research.
Interviews are expected to take place on or around the 7th May.
