About The Role
Currie & Brown is looking for an apprentice building surveyor to join our Cardiff office.
The successful candidate will work on some of the most exciting construction projects and join a team delivering benefits and a lasting legacy for the communities in which we live and work. You will be given training and development opportunities so you can develop and support project leaders in generating a high standard of knowledge across service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for our clients, enhancing our culture of innovation and reinforcing our reputation as a preferred service provider.
The successful applicant will attend university one day per week to gain a degree in building surveying, while working the rest of the week in the office. You will therefore need to have the prerequisite school or college qualifications to gain entry onto a university course to study a BSc Building Surveying degree.
Responsibilities will include:
* Producing detailed reports and recommendations
* Identifying defects and advising on remedial works
* Offering advice on proposed alterations, improvements and extensions
* Preparing budgets and schedules
* Advising on environmental and safety issues
* Meeting with clients and contractors to oversee progress
* Offering advice in relation to legal and planning issues
* Working on-site and in an office.
