PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Our Technical Architect is a hands-on role. As well as leading and shaping the technical landscape for IMServs products, they also roll up their sleeves to write code.
This role straddles our Scrum teams, providing consistency of approaches, choices, and implementation across our teams.
It reviews the external market to identify trends that should be adopted, both in technology choices and in ways of working
It ensures that our various products and modules will work together seamlessly, using integration, data connections, buses, and similar solutions and the documentation it generates, acts as a point of subject matter expertise for ensuring continued high performance and security of our technology solutions
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Leadership. Investigate market trends and use to improve IMServs products. Take ownership to reduce risk and friction from older libraries, technologies and tooling
Software development. Write code and associated unit tests and documentation, plus resolve bugs as needed. Update on progress as part of our scrum processes
Community membership. Be an active member of the Product Engineering community, taking part in team events and similar activities. Coach other team members and ensures a continual improvement mindset in team.
Software design. Define and lead adoption technical frameworks and designs for our software. Coach teams work within these
Solution Architecture. Contributes to the architectural developments, including cloud components and security. Designs and implements within the agreed guidelines.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Depth of knowledge in most of our technologies (Azure, APIs, C#, MS SQL, WSO2)
Has depth of C# as their primary language, and using Azure for cloud-native SaaS Solutions
Strong appreciation for Object Orientation and designing good quality / well-designed code
Has worked in an Agile SCRUM team and is familiar with the associated ceremonies and artefacts
Strong understanding of loosely coupled architectural approaches to enable modular build and deploy, including API design and implementation
Practical experience of Azure DevOps tooling
