About the Role: The SEN Learning Support will work closely with pupils across Key Stages, many of whom have been identified with a range of special educational needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), moderate learning difficulties (MLD), speech and language challenges, and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. Key Responsibilities: Deliver targeted academic and emotional support to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis. Work closely with SENCOs and teaching staff to implement strategies outlined in EHCPs. Assist in maintaining a calm and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning. Promote the personal, social, and academic development of pupils with SEN. Facilitate positive peer relationships and inclusive participation in school life. Maintain accurate and confidential records of pupil progress and behaviour. Uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times, following school policies and procedures. Job Requirements: Relevant educational qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning are highly desirable. Prior experience working with pupils with SEN in a school, childcare or care-based setting. An understanding of individualised learning approaches and behaviour management strategies. Genuine compassion and resilience when supporting pupils with complex needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with pupils, staff and families. Understanding of various Special Education Needs conditions, including autism and ADHD, etc. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
