Bids Estimator
We are seeking an Estimator to join our fast-moving Bids Team.
This individual will support the Chief Estimator in gathering, processing and presenting key data, in our bid to win new Cleaning, Grounds Maintenance and wider Facilities Services contracts (on occasion, up to multi-million-pounds in value)
Your role would be to study and interpret the relevant tender documents, then to visit the respective client sites across the UK in-person to carry out further analysis.
You would subsequently be required to (with accuracy and within stringent timescales) calculate, determine, and report back to the Bids Team and SLT/Board on the Labour Time, Materials, and Associated Costs involved.
Main Responsibilities
1. Reading and interpreting detailed new contract documentation to identify pricing requirements
2. Analysing large quantities of asset data, identifying gaps and raising clarifications
3. Identifying and analysing risks, such as TUPE and KPIs
4. Making accurate and concise notes on contract documentation
5. Building bespoke excel costing spreadsheets for each specific Tender
6. Arrange site visits throughout the UK (many 100s per tender) and work to tight deadlines.
7. Liaising with internal departments to ensure all specification requirements are captured and costed.
8. Have a consistent approach when pricing accurate proposals at multiple sites.
9. Handling multiple tenders at different stages of pricing

11. Ability to upload a significant volume of key data and present cost plans to external customers and the Board.
12. Ensure all processes and procedures are followed.
13. Continually review and assess our performance and consider areas of improvement.
14. Ensure we are exceeding and leading the way in truly exceptional customer service delivery.
15. Ensure all KPIs are tracked and reported on.
What are we looking for?
16. Prior experience working in the Social Housing sector
17. Experience with costings of staff and time
18. IT literate with advanced knowledge of Excel (use of tablet, smart phone apps)
19. Ability to build and populate extensive excel spreadsheets to capture all pricing elements
20. Full UK Drivers Licence essential (Company Vehicle provided)
21. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
