Job Summary
The Trust is looking to appoint a Trust FY2 doctor to fill Deanery vacancy within the department of ENT.
This post is to ideally commence 6th August 2025 for a period of a 12 months.
The successful candidate must possess basic medical degree eg MBBS or equivalent, Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice, Adult Life support and have completed Foundation Year 2 training or equivalent and be Ability to demonstrate relevant experience and qualifications to undertake the required duties including on-call duties.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide efficient advice and treatment to a variety of patients presenting with ENT problems under the supervision of the Consultant Mr Diakos.
2. Provide inpatient ward care.
3. Undertake weekly ward rounds on a rotational basis with the middle grades team.
4. Provide cover in casualty clinics under supervision of a middle grade and Consultant on call.
5. Cover Telephone clinics as needed.
6. Take part in audit activities and be involved in teaching and training the ENT junior doctors.
7. Assist the Consultant in treating patients in review clinic.
8. Provide support to junior doctors.
9. Provide prospective cover for colleagues' absence.

Qualifications Essential
1. Basic Medical Degree (eg. MBBS or equivalent).
2. Less than 4 years postgraduate qualification.
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATION Essential
1. Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice.
TRAINING AND CLINICAL EXPERIENCE Essential
1. Previous experience of working within the NHS.
2. Foundation Year 1 training or equivalent.
3. The ability to carry out a full range of ward-based ENT practical procedures.
4. Some broad experience in ENT conditions and managing emergencies in ENT.
PERSONAL SKILLS AND QUALITIES Essential
1. Conscientious and hard-working.
2. Demonstrates good interpersonal skills with patients, relatives, and members of the clinical team.
3. Ability to work flexibly within the team.
4. Ability to cope with pressure and respond to change.
CLINICAL EFFECTIVENESS Essential
1. Previous experience of preparing and presenting Audits.
2. Previous involvement in publications.
