On behalf of Rolls Royce, AMS are currently recruiting for a Strategic Buyer, working on a 12-month contract based in Derby. The role sits within the Category management and sourcing procurement organisation and sits within the Manufacturing Support, Assembly &Test team. The role will initially focus on the procurement of Engine Test, Test Services, and Research and Technology to support the readiness of Rolls-Royce strategic engine programs. Key Accountabilities: Effectively manage day-to-day relationships with partners and suppliers. Build effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, to support functional priorities. Collaborate with suppliers to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities in line with agreed contracts, utilizing relevant cost models. Will support the creation of the integrated category strategy(s) as well as the execution the associated strategic sourcing and commercial activities to maximize value across designated commodities/categories. Lead in developing and deploying integrated commodity/category/supplier strategies, providing a clear vision and strategic framework for the supply chain. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure strategies meet current and future manufacturing program needs. Select supply chains capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements and manage the rectification of any issues. Ensuring that all sourcing activities are in line with the defined purchasing processes, which will include the raising and management of all purchase documentation within the appropriate system. Utilize strong planning and project management skills to develop comprehensive solutions in complex situations and support risk management practices to assess, communicate, and mitigate supply chain risks. Ensure understanding and compliance with the Global Supplier Code of Conduct, addressing any supplier compliance concerns through direct action or escalation. Key Experiences and Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of proven procurement and sourcing experience with a track record of delivering results CIPS or studying towards full membership (preferred but not essential). Global outlook with exposure to different challenges, cultures, and ways of working. Strong planning and project management skills. Strong commercial acumen. Familiarity with procurement and supply chain management preferred.
