Validation Engineer and Technical Author
A leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality manufacturing equipment for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry have an immediate requirement for a Technical Author/Validation Engineer to join them at their offices in Laindon, Essex.
Location: Laindon, Essex SS15 6AB
Salary: Circa £35,000 with excellent benefits

As Technical Author/Validation Engineer, you will work as part of a team supporting Project Managers and Engineering Technicians. Your role will initially focus on performing tests on machines within our factory using preprepared test protocols to support the verification process, ensuring consistency and understanding of machine operation.
Responsibilities include:
1. Reporting test outcomes and providing feedback to improve testing processes
2. Reviewing and updating Equipment Design Specifications and Qualification Documentation
3. Liaising with departments during equipment build
4. Preparing Operator and Technical Manuals compliant with machinery standards, health and safety requirements, UKCA/CE marking, functional safety, and ATEX certification
As experience grows, additional tasks may include:
1. Preparing Qualification Documentation (DQ, IQ, OQ) for pharmaceutical industry standards
2. Developing Equipment Design Specifications for internal and customer reference
3. Interpreting customer User Requirements and support documentation
4. Collaborating with suppliers and validation departments during projects
5. Conducting Site Acceptance Tests at customer sites
Candidates should have experience in mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering (e.g., HNC trained apprentice or engineering graduate) with good communication skills. Some testing experience is beneficial.
This role may involve occasional global travel.
