Job summary Medical Receptionist 37.5 hours per week Work pattern: Monday 9:30am - 7:30pm Tuesday 9am - 5:30pm Wednesday 9am - 4:30pm Thursday 9am - 5pm Friday 9am - 5:30pm We have a vacancy for a Medical Receptionist to join the existing reception team doing a variety of work in our busy GP practice. This is an essential and demanding role, providing a welcoming, friendly and professional service to patients, staff and visitors to the practice, either in person or via the telephone. They will provide a range of reception and administration duties, utilising SystmOne clinical system and Microsoft systems. Basic computer skills are essential. Experience in a similar role would be an advantage, however in-house training will be provided. Tasks will include dealing with patient queries both face to face and on the telephone, taking prescription requests, updating patient records, liaising with doctors on patient queries, reception work, telephone answering, booking patient appointments and general clerical duties. About us Parkway Medical Group is a busy suburban GP practice with 8 doctors, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Pharmacist, 3 Practice Nurses and 2 Healthcare Assistants. The clinicians are supported by a Practice Manager, Deputy Practice Manager, Finance Manager and 10 Administrative staff. As a member practice of Newcastle Outer West Primary Care we also have access to the extended team of First Contact physiotherapists, First Contact Mental Health Workers, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Social prescribers and link workers. We are also a teaching practice for Doctors in training and medical students. The surgery is in a modern purpose built premise with a current patient list size of 8342.
