REPORTING:
Reports to Maintenance Supervisor/Senior Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Subsea Supervisor
SUPERVISION:
Provides guidance to Assistant Subsea Supervisor
PRE-REQUISITE/QUALIFICATION:
1. High School Diploma (U.S.)/ Proof of Completion of Formal Education or Relevant Craft Certificate (where applicable)
2. Successful Military Discharge – Preferred for U.S.
3. Minimum of one-year experience working with a Multiplex system
4. Basic computer skills
5. Graduate of Trade School or University where knowledge and training acquired are applicable to job requirements – Preferred
6. Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates
7. Knowledge of all technical calculations required for the subsea operation of the drilling unit and basic computer skill

14. Full participation in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations as per assigned duties on the station bill.
15. Norway Specific: Responsible to follow up on the working environment within the rig department.
OPERATIONAL DISCIPLINE REQUIREMENTS:

22. Recognize at risk behavior or conditions during tasks and call ‘Time out for Safety’ when unsure, or when the job does not go as planned.
23. Participate in After Action Reviews to feedback lessons learned from performing the task.
HSE REQUIREMENTS:
24. Demonstrate commitment and leadership in the protection of personnel, the environment, and assets.
25. Coach personnel in the understanding of applicable Company OI & HSE requirements.
26. Ensure work is executed in accordance with Company OI & HSE requirements.
27. Call a Time Out when a real or perceived at risk behavior or unsafe condition is observed.
28. Coach personnel to use WorkSight ENGAGE during the execution of planned work.
29. Use WorkSight COACH during the execution of planned work and daily operations to reinforce Company requirements.
30. Report all incidents, potential hazards, or abnormal situations. Ensure reported situations are acknowledged properly.
31. Ensure the Control of Work process is complied with when planning and managing the execution of work.
32. Ensure major accident barriers / controls are maintained.
33. Ensure safe and organized work areas are maintained.
34. Understand your role in an emergency, as designated in the Emergency Response Plan and Station Bill.
35. Lead or participate in all emergency drills and exercises, as required.
36. Ensure change is properly controlled and managed.
DUTIES:
The underlying expectation is that all duties are carried out in compliance with the Company Operational Discipline expectations and HSE requirements. When considering assignment of duties for the Subsea Supervisor, the Supervisor and the Subsea Supervisor will apply the rules of task planning (CAKES) to determine if the assigned role is appropriate. This means confirming that the individuals involved have the knowledge, skills, and experience to carry out the task, and the task plan complies with policy before they are authorized to proceed.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Operations/Maintenance:
37. Maintain the Blow Out Preventer (BOP), Diverter, and associated subsea equipment in accordance with AIM (Asset & Inventory Management) guidelines.
38. Operate and pressure test the BOP on the surface and on the seabed as required.
39. Direct the deck and drill crews in the running and recovery of the BOP and Marine Riser equipment.
40. Direct the assembly, installation, and nippling down of the BOP and all well control equipment as required.
41. Operate, maintain and repair the subsea BOP control system, i.e. surface BOP or multiplex electro-hydraulic control systems.
42. Operate, maintain and test hydraulic connectors; Maintain BOP handling equipment, testing equipment and wellhead equipment.
43. Operate and service the bridge cranes and related hoisting equipment; Ensure that the drill string compensator is serviced as required.
44. Ensure that the riser pipe system is serviced and tested as required; Operate and maintain the diverter system and the running and handling tools.
45. Assist in running/testing the wellhead, casing hangers and seal assemblies; Operate and maintain wellhead running/retrieval test tools.
46. Ensure that the required riser tensioning pressure is set to comply with the mud weight in use; Monitor and maintain the riser guideline and pod line tensioners.
47. Maintain accurate daily log sheets relevant to the subsea equipment; Maintain records of BOP and associated equipment tests.
48. Maintain records of inspection and certification of subsea equipment.
49. Ensure that an adequate supply of spares is maintained to fulfill maintenance requirements and facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
50. Maintain records of ton-miles on wire ropes. Slip and cut according to the agreed program.
51. Ensure that Supervisor is informed of any issues relating to the subsea equipment that may affect the safe and efficient running of operations.
52. Ensure that the permit to work and isolation system is in place and followed.
53. Liaise with the marine department prior to moving the BOP and marine riser package in consideration of the rig’s stability.
54. Assist in supplying information for maintenance and repair budget.
55. Assist in communicating equipment problems or breakdown with Field Support group and equipment vendor.
Personnel:
56. Promote and maintain good working relationships with other departments, third-party personnel and Customer representatives.
57. Ensure all Maintenance personnel meet the training requirements as per their applicable training matrix.
58. Mentor, coach, develop and train crew members to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.
59. Provide leadership and motivation to the maintenance crews. Apply continuous improvement process.
60. Mentor the Assistant Subsea Supervisor and deputize when operations, security of well, and personnel safety are not at risk.
61. Assist in training to ensure that all personnel are competent to perform their allocated jobs.
62. Participate fully in the annual performance appraisal process.
63. Apply appropriate accountability regarding recognition; recommend promotion or disciplinary action up to and including discharge.
