Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Business Development Manager / Systems Design and Sales Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the industry, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. This role is critical to our growth strategy, focusing on the design and tendering of all systems, and playing a key part in driving sales and profitability across our projects within Fire & Security.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development:
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the systems design and integration sector.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions.
3. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed targets.
4. Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new market opportunities.
2. Systems Design:
1. Oversee the design and engineering of various systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
2. Work closely with the engineering team to ensure seamless integration and functionality of designed systems.
3. Prepare detailed technical proposals and tender documentation for all systems, including cost estimates and project timelines.
4. Provide technical support and guidance to clients during the project lifecycle.
3. Sales Consultancy:
1. Serve as a consultant to clients, offering expert advice on systems design, integration, and overall project feasibility.
2. Conduct site visits and assessments to accurately capture client requirements and project scope.
3. Lead negotiations with clients and stakeholders to secure profitable contracts.
4. Manage client expectations throughout the sales process, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
1. Experience:
1. Minimum of 8 years' experience in systems design, tendering, and sales within the relevant industry.
2. Proven track record of success in a similar role, with the ability to deliver profitable projects.
3. Strong understanding of industry standards, technologies, and best practices in systems design and integration.
2. Skills:
1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
2. Strong technical acumen, with the ability to understand complex systems and convey this knowledge to clients.
3. Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
4. Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a drive to achieve and exceed targets.
3. Other Requirements:
1. Location: Epping, Essex, due to the majority of work being in the London area.
2. Full UK driving license.
3. Willingness to travel as required to meet client needs and attend site visits.
