Purpose of Role
This role adds value by safely and reliably operating the Ravago Building Solutions (RBS) Kings Lynn plant within a team of employees and contractors. Directly completes both assigned and self-identified tasks. Uses problem solving skills to resolve plant problems and identify improvements that benefit customers and the RBS business.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Monitors plant performance and condition by physical inspection and by interpreting data from process automation information systems. Intervenes to optimise plant performance.
Executes scheduled preventive maintenance and other tasks assigned to the shift team
Employs troubleshooting and problem solving skills to resolve any safety, quality and reliability problems that may occur
Identifies and records improvement opportunities that will benefit customers and/or plant performance
Participates in improvement initiatives and projects. Directly executes small improvements.
Assists the plant Shift Leader during an on or off-plant incident.
Ensures that all work is carried out safely by issuing Safe Work Permits, as well as by direct observation and intervention
May assume the responsibilities of Shift Leader when properly trained to do so, in cases where the Shift Leader is absent
Offloads bulk and packaged raw materials
Ensures an excellent standard of housekeeping in the work area
Skills and Qualifications
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Able to solve problems and implement solutions in a manufacturing environment
GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.Fluent in spoken and written English
Higher level qualifications or apprenticeship in manufacturing-related skills is an advantage
The ability to work effectively in a diverse team is essential
Will need to obtain afork lifttruck licence if not already qualified
