Are you experienced in delivering construction lessons to post 16 learners in a classroom setting?
We have a range of contracts available at a leading FE College in Southwark.
You will be responsible for bringing subject expertise and high expectations to the college and the classroom, delivering a first-class student experience and outcomes across construction.
Each day you will:
1. Inspire and engage students through well-planned lessons with suitable structure, pace, and challenges.
2. Demonstrate a good and up-to-date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, and assessment strategies and know how to use them to provide opportunities for all learners.
3. Ensure lessons are effectively differentiated for the individual needs of students.
4. Encourage students to think and talk about their learning, develop self-control and independence, concentrate, persevere, and listen attentively.
To be suitable for this opportunity you will need to have:
1. Teaching Qualification (PGCE, Diploma in Education and Training (DET), or equivalent, e.g., Cert Ed, Foundation Degree, etc.) upon appointment or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe.
2. Experience of teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills English.
3. Proven track record of successful teaching, assessment, and contributing to curriculum design in GCSE and/or FS English.
4. Experience of utilising learning technologies, ILPs, tracking processes, and monitoring systems to support and track learners to progress and achieve.
As an individual, you must be able to:
1. Exhibit excellent administration and organisational skills.
2. Demonstrate strong communication skills, both oral and written, to ensure effective management of programmes, learners, and teaching resources.
3. Possess appropriate IT and data interpretation skills to enable the effective use of College reporting and tracking systems.
4. Manage workload effectively and work to tight timescales.
5. Be reliable and enthusiastic with the ability to work flexibly and with initiative to solve problems.
