Production Supervisor Summary
Our client based in Halstead, Colchester are looking for an experienced and dedicated Production Supervisor to join their team in a busy factory. Working closely with the Manager, the successful candidate will oversee daily operations on the factory floor. This role requires strong leadership skills, flexibility, and the ability to promote a positive and enthusiastic working environment. The ideal candidate would not be afraid to get their hands dirty and help on the machines when needed. Must have previous experience in a manufacturing environment specifically in sheet metal work.
Production Supervisor Key Responsibilities
1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
2. Monitor production processes to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
3. Ensure that health and safety regulations are strictly followed.
4. Provide guidance and support to improve performance and skills.
5. Encourage a positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented working environment.
6. Operate a forklift as needed, ensuring the safe handling of materials.
7. Assist the team with the fabrication.
8. Manage resources effectively, including materials, equipment, and labour, to maximise productivity.
9. Report on production progress, identifying any issues or bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.
Production Supervisor Qualifications and Experience
1. Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing facility, with specific experience in sheet metal work.
2. Counterbalance forklift license is required; refreshers can be provided.
3. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery, particularly in sheet metal fabrication.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
5. Must be flexible with working requirements, able to adapt to changing production needs and schedules.
6. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Production Supervisor Requirements
1. Strong leadership and communication skills.
2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
3. Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
4. Excellent organisational skills.
5. Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
