We are looking for a highly experienced and diligent Senior Systems Safety Engineer to be the focal point for product and system safety assurance. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Drumgrange’s products and systems are safe to use and certifiable to applicable standards. This will be achieved through planning, managing, and delivering all aspects of product and system safety across the Drumgrange portfolio of bids and projects. Working as part of an engineering design team, the role will include both managing and conducting safety management activities, utilising internal and external stakeholders to accomplish tasks and will be responsible for the production of all relevant documentation in accordance with relevant safety legislation, regulations, project safety management system, and contractual requirements. What Youll Need Acknowledged competency in Product Safety Engineering, with proven experience in delivering product safety management as part of complex systems, within a regulated industry. Experience in leading and conducting safety analysis, risk evaluation, and safety case construction. Experience in leading and conducting hazard identification and analysis activities. Working knowledge of safety-based risk assessments, including identification, estimation, and reduction techniques. A high level of both verbal and written communication skills providing regular communication to internal and external stakeholders, customers, and suppliers. Good understanding of safety and regulatory standards and policies, such as Def Stan 00-056, DSA02-DMR. Be able to manage, motivate, and develop fellow engineers to ensure they fulfil their roles and meet targets within agreed timelines and standards of quality. What Youll Do Establish and work on Safety Management Systems and Plans. Determine priorities through a review of contractual, policy, and legislative requirements. Carry out detailed safety analysis, risk evaluation, and safety case construction using a best practice approach. Lead and conduct hazard identification and analysis activities, providing documented evidence through maintained hazard logs. Conduct safety-based risk assessments, as part of safety case management and for legislative compliance. Resolve Product Safety engineering issues and problems, compiling technical reports, and accompanying presentations. Provide safety input to bids and proposals, identifying work packages, effort, and time required. Manage delegation of tasks internally, and externally where safety management tasks are subcontracted. Evolve company working practices and processes as appropriate to ensure that product safety considerations are an integral part of the design process.
