The Role As a Senior Accountant, you will support the Head of Finance in all aspects of accounts, taxation, audit, insurance, treasury, and banking for the business, which consists of 11 individual business units (separate trading entities). Your key responsibilities will include: Preparing monthly reporting schedules for the Board Pack Performing monthly balance sheet reviews on all divisions and consolidating monthly balance sheets Preparing and developing year-end packs, including consolidating 11 individual packs Providing required information for statutory accounts Liaising with external accountants regarding statutory accounts, taxation, and accounting standards Maintaining accounts and cash flows for the Pension Scheme, acting as the first point of contact for administration requests and external auditors Assisting the Head of Finance with internal and external audit processes Managing working capital, cash investments, and treasury functions Liaising with bankers Handling tax enquiries and responding to HMRC queries in a timely manner Providing detailed tax schedules to third-party tax advisors Completing share returns Reviewing and monitoring leases (property, vehicles, etc.) Assisting the Head of Finance with the annual budgeting process, including consolidation, cash flows, and balance sheets Reviewing and questioning first-draft budgets for all businesses and preparing Board summaries Preparing and collating information for legal reporting requirements, such as payment practice reporting Facilitating and maintaining payment and banking software Preparing documentation for insurance renewal packs and liaising with brokers and insurance companies Supporting various projects alongside the Head of Finance Assisting in future acquisitions Developing a strong understanding of all business units and advising the Management Accounts Team on financial accounting matters Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will need: A recognised CCAB accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA) Strong experience in technical accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance Strong organisational skills and attention to detail The ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders A proactive and problem-solving mindset The role would be suitable for a 1st or 2nd time mover from Practice or someone with strong financial accounting led experience.
