Our client is looking to appoint a Finance Manager to be based in Aviemore on a part time basis for approximately 2 days per week.
The successful applicant will be working closely with the Managing Director in designing budgets and forecasting models and managing the Accounts, HR & Payroll Assistants.
Duties include:
Support the Managing Director in ensuring compliance at all times with relevant financial reporting and disclosure requirements and managing the Accounts, HR & Payroll Assistant in producing timely reports and information for such reporting to HMRC, Statistics Bodies.
Manage the work of the Accounts, HR & Payroll Assistant to ensure a very high degree of financial accuracy in the data presented in daily cashflow, plus monthly, trimester and annual P&L reports.
Support the Managing Director in evolving the template of the annual and 24 month and 5yr financial forecast for the business.
Lead the data population of all forward looking templates in conjunction with the Heads of Departments who will be responsible for departmental delivery of KPI’s against these financial performance expectations.
Evolving the reports within Xero to best align with simple easily understood templates so managers can quickly grasp key controllable metrics.
Contribute to the Company wide Senior Management Team and embed the Company Vision into the operations and reports of the Finance Department.
Assist other managers and assistant managers understand the systems of the Finance Department.
Induct new employees and train more junior Finance Team members in the working systems and culture of the Finance Department and to make immediate interventions regarding poor performances of team members and record all instances of such poor performance for the purpose of appraisals or disciplinary action.
Person Specification:
A minimum of 4 years prior experience in a senior finance or accountancy position in a medium sized business.
Experience in a management role of at least a couple of staff.
Highly competent in the use of Xero, Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Experience in company fillings for HMRC and statistical bodies.
Experience in preparing month end accounts and setting and appraising KPI’s.
Experience in developing forecasting and budget models.
High attention to detail in accuracy of reports produced.
Strong numeracy, analytical and literacy skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable:
Experience in a lead Financial Officer or Accounts role of a multi department/business model enterprise providing financial forecasts and reports across a number of business operations.
Highly experienced in use of Xero, Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Highly experienced and organised in liaising with HMRC and official financial bodies.
Highly experienced in developing forecasting and cashflow models.
Experienced in Payroll calculations and software.
Exceptional attention to detail in expressing the facts within the figures.
