CATERING ASSISTANT
BCP GRADE B
12.5 HRS PER WEEK, 11.15-13.45

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our committed staff team. We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our busy team preparing and serving freshly prepared healthy, nutritious school meals.
Our Catering Assistants work term time, during school hours 39 weeks per year.
Working in our kitchen is very rewarding, we'll give you all the training and experience you need to succeed, with our partners at Goosemoor Educatering. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to learn and progress.
The role will involve preparing, cooking and serving children’s lunches; washing up and clearing away after lunch service, as well as playing your part in keeping the kitchen clean and well-presented.
You'll need to enjoy working as part of a team, serving lunch on time to our children and other schools we serve is essential, you must be able to cope in a busy environment. If you have experience of working in a catering environment that would be an advantage, but it's not essential.

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible and committed to encouraging all our children to eat healthy fresh school meals.
The successful applicant will be required to work 12.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (this includes inset days) BCP Grade B £12.26 per hour.

The pro rata salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and includes appropriate paid annual leave and bank holiday entitlements.
The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments and will be adjusted at the start of employment and again if leaving part way through the school year to ensure the correct salary is received for the work completed in an academic year.
This role is UK based and your Right to Work will need to be established as part of the appointment process.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. Keeping Children Safe in Education
Somerford Primary School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted.
