This role has a starting salary of £40,296 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week or pro rata for the part time role. This role supports hybrid working.
This is a 12-month fixed term contract/secondment opportunity.
We are looking for two enthusiastic individuals to oversee the day-to-day running of our East and North-West area Reablement services. This will involve supporting the Reablement Service through a period of transformation to make Reablement available to more residents in Surrey, supporting our guiding mission of 'No-one left behind'. We have a full time position in our East Area (based in Reigate) and a 0.25 position in our North-West Area (based in Woking).
About the role
We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm to lead our Reablement service. You will be responsible for staff who deliver front line community services seven days a week, 365 days a year, ensuring high quality care is delivered in accordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards and current legislation. You will work closely alongside the area Occupational Therapist and have direct line management responsibility for Team Leaders, as well as overall responsibility for the whole team of Reablement Assistants, Integrated Reablement Workers, and specialist workers.
In this role, you will lead a team that works within people's homes, supporting them to regain or acquire new daily living skills and maintain their general wellbeing in line with what is important and meaningful to them, enabling them to live a more independent and fulfilled life.
You will provide leadership to ensure that services are aligned to the organisation's strategy and objectives to maximise people's levels of independence using a strengths-based approach. You will systematically monitor and review the quality of the care provided within the Service to maintain high standards and take the lead on all operational Human Resource issues for the team. You will ensure that the service operates efficiently and is meeting the expected performance targets.
We are looking for someone who has a real passion to help others; will be able to deal with sensitive, and sometimes difficult, situations to achieve the very best outcomes for the people we support; and who has excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
At Surrey County Council, we are also dedicated to the wellbeing of our staff. You will be supported under the supervision of the Reablement Service Manager and provided with excellent personal development, allowing you to progress in your career.
Our Reablement Service operates a hybrid working model, with an expectation to work from the office at least 2 days per week to promote collaboration and good working relationships within teams and with other stakeholders.
This exciting post offers the chance for individual professional development for someone who has experience of working within frontline social care, giving the opportunity to manage a team of staff, have experience in a supervisory role and develop an understanding of working with electronic rostering systems. You will contribute to the development of the Reablement Service as it undergoes its transformation to being a therapy-led service.
