Aircraft Stress Analysis Engineer
Bristol / Hybrid (M5 / M4 / M32 area).
12 month fixed-term contract.
My client is a rapidly expanding Engineering Consultancy, engaged for an exciting aerospace programme. They are now looking for an Aircraft Stress Analysis Engineer to join them on this project. Does this sound like the exciting next step in your career?
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analysis of Metallic & Composite structural components.
2. Work with a team responsible for the review and analysis of aircraft structural modifications to show compliance to FAR/CAR regulations.
3. Development of Global Finite Element Model (GFEM) for loads.
4. Development of DFEM for sizing parts with complex configurations.
5. Development of analysis templates using classical methods.
6. Review technical presentations, interpret the results, and present them to the customer during PDR & CDR gates.
7. Ensure 100% quality and on-time delivery.
8. Conduct project review meetings to share lessons learned and best practices with the team to improve quality.
9. Provide alternative solutions to field issues.
Qualifications:
1. Expertise in handling various structural analysis tools, preferably MSC Nastran/Patran, HyperMesh, etc.
2. 2D & 3D Finite Element modelling of simple, moderate, and complex components (Plate, Hexahedral & Tetrahedral elements) using MSC Nastran/Patran or HyperMesh.
3. Linear and non-linear static stress analysis (Geometric, Material, and contact Linearity) using MSC Nastran/Patran.
4. Ability to interpret and modify MSC Nastran command statements in bulk data files and re-run analysis; ability to debug FEA errors and perform batch runs for multiple BDFs.
5. Good knowledge of hand calculations and able to propose methods for structural failure modes.
6. Review and understand strength, stability, and durability requirements of structural components.
