The Role
As an Operations Associate, you will assist the Head of Operations & Underwriting and the wider operations team in managing key back-office tasks. Your responsibilities will include contract generation, customer underwriting, email administration and data management to ensure efficient operations.
This role would suit a bright, inquisitive and enthusiastic Ops Associate looking for their next challenge. As you learn the business and your role and responsibilities increase, you'll have the chance to work on numerous projects with cross functional teams. To succeed, you must have exceptional written and verbal communications skills, be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and possess exceptional attention to detail.
Initially, this is an in-office / on-site role, 5 days a week, and we are based in West London (Acton). Once you pass your 3 month probation, this will become a hybrid working model with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Underwriting Administration
* Utilise our Loan Management System and Open Banking tools to support customer underwriting.
* Assess customer risk ratings based on their credit profile and income & expenditure.
* Approve, decline, or provide recommendations based on underwriting assessments.
* Conduct soft approvals for the sales team prior to full underwriting checks.
Customer Contracts
* Generate customer contracts for all product types within our rental/loan management systems as part of the onboarding process.
* Draft new contracts for customers renewing rental agreements.
* Update active customer agreements to accommodate reschedules, returns, or amendments.
* Apply relevant charges to agreements as required.
* Track contract resends and replacements.
* Manage the closure of customer accounts, ensuring a smooth transition through the 'Matured' process.
Systems & Project Administration
* Assist the operations team with administrative duties related to projects and system management.
* Support office hardware management, maintaining a log of devices checked in and out.
General Administration
* Email inbox management – Supporting the operational teams in fleet and insurance. Answering inbound queries or allocating them to the relevant team members for response
* Data entry – keying or uploading data into our fleet management and CRM system
Person Specification
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with the following qualities:
* Experience: 2+ years in an operational or back office role (or equivalent).
* Hardworking with a proactive approach to learning and adaptability.
* Friendly and approachable personality, fostering positive working relationships.
* Strong communication skills, including email, phone, and text interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications, with a good understanding of MS Excel.
* Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
* Team player who enjoys contributing to company growth.
* Excellent time management and multitasking skills, capable of handling multiple priorities.
* Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
* Prior experience in insurance or underwriting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
* Graduate: ideally a 2:1 (or above) graduate, all subjects and fields considered.
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 per annum
* Bonus: Up to 10% performance-based (company and individual) bonus.
