Superior Recruitment Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Assistant based in Gateshead.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Daily monitoring of all purchase orders, checking for approval, distribute to suppliers and matching to purchase invoices through Lightyear.
2. Point of contact for procurement across the business, including monitoring.
3. Clearing purchasing and accounts inboxes to ensure all queries have been actioned.
4. Production of weekly sales invoices.
5. Credit control assistance.
6. Support of month end close for AP and AR including statement reconciliations.
7. Assisting with month end journals.
8. Quarterly VAT return preparation.
9. Processing of bi-weekly payment run.
10. Processing of staff expenses and credit card reconciliations.
11. Support for customs bonded import/export administration.
12. Involvement in projects and other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Skills & Knowledge Specification
Essential
1. Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar finance role.
2. Excellent excel and computer skills are required.
3. Strong attention to detail, a decent understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
4. Understanding of accounting software systems.
5. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
6. Can do attitude.
Desirable
1. Experience of Xero accounting software.
2. Experience of Lightyear - purchasing and AP platform.
