Responsibilities of our Senior Financial Accountant:
1. To lead and manage the financial accounting function including accounts receivable and payable and VAT with a team of 6
2. To oversee financial processing for the whole organisation
3. To develop and operate robust financial controls
4. To provide cash flow management and forecasting
5. To support end to end process ownership and improvement across the Finance function
6. To provide support to all finance system users
7. To maintain and develop the finance systems
About the Finance team:
1. This is a key role within the Operational Finance team which forms part of the wider Finance function of the charity. The wider Finance team is made up of around 25 people.
2. We have recently implemented a new Finance system and are looking for opportunities to maximise the benefit of our investment through improved process, data and analysis.
What we're looking for in our Senior Financial Accountant:
1. Experience of managing a team of at least six people
2. Experience of building statutory accounts from trial balance and administering accounting software
3. Experience of managing a balance sheet
4. Excellent people management skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
5. Experience of working within the charity sector
6. Experience of working with large finance systems
7. Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
8. Excellent organisational skills
