SEN Coordinator (Special Educational Needs)

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Job Summary:
Dunbar Education, a trusted recruitment partner in the education sector, is seeking a committed SEN Coordinator with a passion for leadership and supporting young learners. You will work closely with the headteacher to lead SEN provision, ensuring that students with special educational needs and disabilities receive tailored support. Your role will also involve managing compliance and documentation while fostering an inclusive environment.
Key Requirements:
1. Current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
3. National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent certification
4. Experience supporting children with behavioural challenges and a variety of SEN needs
5. Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and expertise in implementing EHCPs
6. Proven leadership, excellent communication, and organisational skills
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage SEN provision, ensuring all pupils receive the necessary support
2. Track pupil progress and adjust strategies to maximise individual outcomes
3. Design and implement targeted interventions for students with Autism, ADHD, and other learning challenges
4. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to create and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
5. Provide ongoing staff training and guidance on SEN best practices
6. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and maintain detailed SEN records
