We have an exciting opportunity in BHRUT to join our skilled midwives in antenatal/postnatal ward as a band 7 Dual role midwife. You will be able to have an operational oversight of the maternity unit as a whole as well and being able to provide clinical support. Main duties of the job
Working in a dual role as both a clinical and operational manager whilst working closely with the specialty Maternity Matron and Deputy Matron to manage the midwifery and nursing staff, flow and resources within the ward/department areas to provide high quality and cost-effective clinical care. On a daily basis be proactive in reviewing the capacity within the unit and supporting the midwives in effective and efficient discharge and acuity. Redeploy staff to cover service needs and maintain clinical practice.
Person specification
Education/ Qualifications
* NMC Registered Midwife with substantial experience.
* Prescriber or Willingness to undertake and complete prescribing course within 2 years
* NIPE trained or currently taking the course for QBC/PNW/ANW posts. Willingness to undertake NIPE training for Triage post within 12 months.
* Previous experience as a band 6/7 Midwife with experience of being in charge/coordinating of shifts
* HDU High Risk Care delivery course attended and willingness to undertake
* MSc in relevant subject (evidence of working towards i.e. already on pathway)
