Role: Learning Support Assistant

Contract: Full time (opportunity to become permanent)
Salary: £90 - £95 per day
Here at Long-term Teachers, we have a well established relationship with a fantastic trust that has amazing special provisions across Devon and Cornwall. We have a very exciting opportunity to work at one of their incredible provisions in Tiverton as a Learning Support Assistant.
I have supported this school for a long-time and I can honestly say that this is a wonderful place to work. Supporting students across KS3 and KS4, you will be part of a close-knit and supportive team who provide essential care and support for students with high-functioning autism and ADHD.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide general classroom support as well as 1:1 and small group interventions when necessary
* Assist the teacher with lesson preparation, supervision, resource gathering and activity set up
* Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students, fostering a safe and supportive environment
* Effectively manage behaviour in line with students’ EHCPs and meet their individual needs
* Facilitate students’ access to the curriculum and help them engage in their learning
About you:
* Passionate about supporting young people, particularly those with autism and ADHD
* You are proactive, resilient and eager to actively contribute to the school community
* You have a good sense of humour and enjoy working collaboratively within a team
* You can build strong, positive relationships with students, staff and parents/carers
* Prior experience working with individuals with autism and ADHD is desirable
If you are an experienced teaching assistant or have a background in supporting individuals with additional needs, this could be the ideal role for you!
You will be required to work 8am - 3pm, Monday to Friday during term-time only. You will be well supported and will receive regular opportunities for professional development.
