Title: Senior Finance Analyst
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract until 21/11/2025 (Maternity cover)
Location: Stratford, London, E15 4PH or Sale Point, Manchester M33 6AG (Travel to London offices as and when required)
Persona: Agile, 20-40% office based (3-4 days working from home)
Starting salary: London weighted starting from £39,465 pa. Regional/Outside London starting from £35,022 p.a. depending on experience and location

A great opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Group Financial Reporting team. The role will be a 12 month FTC (maternity cover). You will report directly to the Group Accountant, be responsible for providing a comprehensive financial service to two small external housing providers and assist with L&Q group accounts duties such as financial analysis, reconciliations, review, monitoring of transactions, updating team task planners and other ad hoc tasks as required by the Group Financial Reporting team.
Your Responsibilities will include:
* Perform detailed financial analysis, financial monitoring, review, reconcile and complete management & statutory accounts for small entities assigned to the post holder.
* Provide valuable and relevant management information to enable the Boards of each entity to make informed decisions.
* Assist in maintaining the necessary relevant records, charts of accounts and systems effectively and assist with the project to report the small external entities in our new finance system.
* Assist with L&Q group accounting month-end and quarter-end tasks.
* Assist the L&Q Group with year-end accounts preparation and audit queries.
* Assist in producing annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the L&Q Group.
Your experience/skills should include:
* Experience as a senior finance analyst who has completed or assisted with preparing statutory and management accounts is required.
* Experience working in the property or housing sector or external audit is desirable.
* Proven and applied knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP, FRS102 and Housing SORP and Accounting Direction are desirable.
* Excellent communication skills with proven business partnering experience and an effective team member.
* Good time management skills and ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills with solid commercial acumen and attention to detail.
* Experience in data analysis, problem-solving, and customer service is desirable.
* Strong academic background, either AAT qualified, or part qualified and studying towards a full accounting qualification.
* IT literacy in MS Office is essential along with intermediate knowledge of Excel for reporting and monitoring. Proficient in working with financial software is desirable.
