As a member of the Steam Power Engineering team you receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers and grow your technical expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.
Engineering interns in Steam Power experience technically challenging assignments in the power generation industry focusing on areas such as of Steam turbine services, Design and Repairs, Systems, Analysis, Quality, Reliability, Digital, and Integration & Test.

What You Will Do:
* Perform design and analysis of product lines in areas such as steam turbines and generators for industrial, fossil and nuclear.
* Learn OEM and oOEM steam turbine technologies, products, and service offerings.
* Learn repair and manufacturing technologies.
* Use product life management tools for component design and assembly.
* Help and support senior Engineering team members in their projects.
Internship Term Dates:
July/August till December 2025 (Fall Co-Op Candidates only)
Expected Work Schedule:
Day/1st -Shift (40 - hours weekly)
What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications)
* Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding)
* Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field of study inMaterial Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering.
* Enrolled in a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program.
* Completed at least two full years of college.
Other Eligibility Requirements
* Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process
* Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
* Must be 18 years of age or older •Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships
* Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
* Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business
* Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
What Will Make You Stand Out
* Ability to complete a 6month rotation
* Graduating undergrad or Master's degree between Dec 2025 - May 2026
* Good understanding of material science and manufacturing methods and process.
* Parts design and drawing creation in Catia Dassault software.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Good understanding of problem-solving methods, root cause analysis and analytical skills.
* Must be highly self-motivated and be able to work under minimal supervision
* An analytical approach to problem solving with a high degree of curiosity.
* Willingness and ability to learn from others.
* Willingness to make and learn from mistakes.
* Excellent organizational, written communication, and oral communication skills.
* Demonstrated leadership and team player.
* One who strives for academic excellence and shows great initiative.
* Desire to work in a fast paced and agile environment.

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergrate/graduate field of study completed
This position is also eligible for:
* Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
* Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
* Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
* GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
