Job Description:
As an Orthodontic Nurse/Treatment Coordinator in our practice, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our orthodontic patients as well as playing a crucial role in assisting our orthodontists. Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Patient Consultations: Conducting comprehensive consultations with patients to discuss their orthodontic needs, treatment options, and financial considerations.
* Treatment Planning: Collaborating with the orthodontist to create personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
* Financial Coordination: Providing detailed information about treatment costs, insurance coverage, and payment options to patients and their families.
* Appointment Scheduling: Managing and coordinating orthodontic appointments to ensure optimal scheduling and efficiency.
* Patient Education: Educating patients on orthodontic procedures, treatment expectations, and proper care instructions.
* Records Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and financial information.
* Communication and Follow-up: Maintaining regular communication with patients to address their questions, concerns, and progress throughout the treatment process.
* Team Collaboration: Working closely with the orthodontic team to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and exceptional patient experiences.
* Assisting the orthodontist during various orthodontic procedures, including fitting and adjustments of braces, retainers, and other orthodontic appliances.
* Taking patient records, including dental impressions, photographs, and X-rays.
* Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
* Orthodontic Experience: Previous experience working as an Orthodontic Nurse is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Orthodontics: Familiarity with orthodontic treatment procedures, appliances, and terminology.
* Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the dental team.
* Exceptional Customer Service: Ability to provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming and supportive environment for patients.
* Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and precise treatment coordination.
* Organizational Skills: Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
* Empathy and Compassion: Display empathy and compassion when addressing patient concerns and providing emotional support throughout the treatment process.
* Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with the orthodontic team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
