Daytime Healthcare are assisting a leading children's care home to find a Team Leader to join the team in Peterborough.
The children's home offers a comprehensive residential service for young people with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour aged between 7-17 years.
Duties:
1. To join a team of residential care staff ensuring that safe and appropriate care practices are always maintained.
2. To support the Manager in all aspects of the home's operation, whilst maintaining positive childcare practice, in keeping with the aims and objectives of the home.
3. To provide a safe, warm and supportive environment to our residents whilst being involved in the planning and organisation of the home.
4. To maintain a regular recording system in connection with each young person, be involved in the implementation of care plans and assist in the publication of reports when required.
5. To attend review and planning meetings when required.
Responsibilities:
1. To foster and encourage, wherever appropriate, contact between residents and their families.
2. To maintain good liaison and co-operate with external agencies, e.g., social workers, consultant staff and others concerned with the welfare of the individual residents.
3. To demonstrate both sensitivity and appropriate assertiveness, whilst working in a pressured environment with groups of diverse residents and staff.
4. Carry out the duties of the post in a mature and responsible manner, seeking and receiving support as necessary.
Qualifications:
Level 3 in Childcare is desirable.
Salary: Hourly £13.60 plus £70.50 Sleep-in.
