Area Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating
Job Title: Technical Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating
Industry Sector: Above ground drainage, water supply systems, fabricated drainage systems, water service systems, supply systems, off-site fabrication services, mechanical services, building services, M&E, HVAC, M&E contractors, commercial projects, plumbing and heating merchants
Area to be covered: North West
Remuneration: £50,000 Neg. + 20% Bonus

The role of the Area Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating will involve:
1. Field sales position, selling a manufactured range of plastic piping systems for PVC above ground soil, waste drainage systems, water systems/supply systems and off-site fabrication services
2. Primarily targeting commercial buildings including offices, public buildings, hospitals, schools, healthcare, education, and student accommodation
3. 65% Creating demand and building relationships with end users and M&E contractors
4. 20-25% Back selling through plumbers merchants, such as Drain Center, Smith Brothers, Plumbase, BSS and Pipe Center
5. 15% Influencing local authorities and M&E consultants
6. Responsible for circa 120+ M&E contractor accounts, with the majority of business from the top 10-15
7. Inheriting an area only available due to an internal promotion, achieving £6m turnover
8. Market leader in above ground soils and waste drainage, with opportunities to grow new water services supply systems
9. 75% Account Management role, 25% new business development
10. 3-4 calls per day, 3.5 days per week, with 1.5 days working from home/administration (specification work)
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating with:
1. Plumbing or heating field sales experience with contractors
2. Experience selling into M&E contractors/building services contractors
3. Distribution and manufacturing field sales representative backgrounds are all of interest
4. Prior experience with M&E contractors, building services/mechanical services
5. Experience of back selling through builders merchants and/or plumbers merchants is not essential
6. Related sales experience of above ground drainage products like above ground drainage, water supply systems, fabricated drainage systems, mechanical services, building services, boilers, valves, pumps, flues, tubes, fittings, sanitary-ware, above ground PVC soil & waste drainage, rainwater harvesting, hot & cold water, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and water management solutions is not a pre-requisite
7. Open to all plumbing and heating backgrounds such as boilers, pumps, etc.
8. High level of ability in numeracy, IT capability, communication & organisational skills
9. Autonomous in nature
10. Proven track record with large scale commercial plumbing & heating projects
11. Strong presentation skills
