About the role: Photography/Graphic Design TeacherWe are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher in Photography and Graphic Design within the Creative Industries Faculty based at Guildford College. The Visual Arts department at Guildford College offers pathways in Art, Design, and Photography.This post provides an excellent opportunity for a teacher with passion and drive who is committed to enabling our students to unlock their potential and switch on to the power of learning. Knowledge of UAL specifications is desirable but not essential.The post holder will be required to have a range of abilities within Visual Arts, including Art, Graphics, and Photography. We require someone whose main discipline is Photography and Graphic Design. A strong focus in Photography is essential, including experience with Adobe Creative Suite, studio photography, darkroom practice, contextual studies and theory. The post holder will act as a personal tutor and study programme owner, teaching across all UAL qualifications from Level 1 to our L3/L4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.This post is a permanent appointment, to commence as soon as possible. The hours we require are 0.8 FTE Tuesday-Friday.What do you need to be successful as a Photography/Graphic Design Teacher at Activate Learning?Successful candidates will have an appropriate professional qualification and/or a degree, recent teaching experience and the ability to deliver a programme that includes Art, Design, and Photography.Whilst we would prefer applications from qualified teachers who hold a PGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education) or equivalent teaching qualification, we would consider applications from unqualified applicants, with the ability to inspire our learners and a willingness to complete a teaching qualification.In addition, you will need to have a flexible approach, couples with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
