Job Title: Learning Support Assistant Location : Durham Contract Type: Long term Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Durham. This school caters for young people aged between 2-19 with a diverse range of special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting the needs of children who require extra support as well as some experience working alongside SEND. This school takes great pride in its dedicated team of professionals, who are passionately committed to helping every pupil reach their full potential. The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position. The successful candidate will: Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one. Have experience working in a transferable role. Follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements. Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively. Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery. Possess good classroom skills. Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms. Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils. Leader Education can offer: Competitive pay rates.
