Job Description
Location of work will be mainly office based, with some remote working.
We are seeking a Certified ACCA Accounting Director to build out our UK office. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in UK accounting and bookkeeping, excellent customer management skills, team leadership and an entrepreneurial solution-oriented mindset. The Accounting Director will be responsible for building out our office in the UK and managing the portfolio of UK customers. Starting with Accounting customers, and eventually building a near-shored/offshored team to manage Payroll and Legal Entity Management, working closely with the global Service Line Heads.
Responsibilities Will Include, But Not Limited To
* Accounting: Handle day-to-day accounting tasks, including bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, budgeting, invoicing, accounts payable, risk management, tax filings, and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP.
* Payroll: Manage a payroll team who will process our customers’ payroll requirements. This includes running the payrolls, managing payments to 3rd parties (E.g. HMRC, pension provider, etc), provide pay slips, P45s and P60s, manage P11D reporting, amongst other payroll tasks.
* Entity Management: Manage an Entity Management team who will ensure our customers keep their entities compliant. Day-to-day tasks include Local Office Address responsibilities, Annual General Meeting minutes and filings, updating UBO data on Companies House, amongst other CoSec tasks.
* Customer Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with our customers, providing excellent service and solutions to their outsourcing needs.
* Team Leadership: Build, lead and manage the UK team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and efficiency.
* Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning of the company, particularly in relation to building a robust UK office and contributing to the company’s gross margin goals.
Qualifications
* ACCA certification in good standing is required.
* 5+ years of experience in UK accounting and bookkeeping.
* Proven experience in managing a team.
* Excellent customer management skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a solution-oriented mindset.
* Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Desire and ability to lead the growth and development of our UK accounting office.
* Ability to anticipate potential problems and take action before they occur.
* Meticulous attention to detail is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of our financial operations.
* As a key holder of sensitive financial information, trustworthiness is paramount.
* Ability to efficiently manage time and resources effectively to meet deadlines.
