This is a really exciting opportunity for a successful and ambitious Manager or Supervisor looking to progress their career, supporting or managing multiple stores in the High Peak area, on a planned or ad hoc basis.

Responsible for: No direct line management, however responsible for supervising shop volunteers
Location: High Peak district, including Buxton, New Mills, Glossop and Bakewell
Contract Type: Full time, permanent
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, working 9am - 5pm between Monday and Sunday
Aim / Purpose of the Job
To support the running and development of our network of shops. Each shop has a slightly different customer base and unlike large chain retail, you will have significant discretion over the running the shops, including a variety of opportunities to be creative in how you market the merchandise and increase sales. You will have the opportunity to identify and share best practice across the shops, and rather than being based in the same place, you will work across the network of shops. You will need to be flexible with the ability to adapt to different working environments as you will be working with different teams and in different sites each week, whilst maintaining best practices and standards. This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience in multi-site retail management.
People Management
* Act as supervisor to assistant managers and volunteers, delegate tasks to staff and volunteers, ensure staff and volunteers adhere to retail policy and procedures.
* Maintain an up to date staffing rota and record of volunteers.
* Ensure a standard of excellence in areas such as Customer Service and overall communication with staff and members of the public.
Sales and Profit
* Achieve agreed sales targets to maximise profit through effective stock management and cost control measures.
Stock Management
* Maintain the shop pricing structure and effective stock management systems to achieve the maximum profit from goods. This includes: Supervision of sorting, preparation for sale and pricing of stock.
* Assist with effectively managing collections and deliveries, regularly liaising with the HUB.
* Generate a high volume of stock onto the shop sales floor, applying consistent and appropriate pricing, along with Gift Aid where applicable.
* Identify high value items for eBay and any additional ways of recognising alternative revenue streams.
* Maintain an attractive window display at all times with replenishment of stock when sold.
* Ensure high levels of cleanliness are consistently maintained.
The Candidate
We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated and has excellent interpersonal communication and customer care skills.
You must be fully flexible in terms of travel as you could be working in a number of different stores, including Buxton, New Mills, Glossop and Bakewell. Must have access to own vehicle; travel expenses will be paid.
Previous supervisory experience in retail and/or customer service environment is required with good problem-solving ability. Are you ready for the ever-changing challenge that is charity retailing?
