Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Band 3 HCA to join a dynamic, motivated team of renal nurses who deliver a high standard of specialist care at the renal dialysis clinic situated in the grounds of St Helens hospital. You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment providing comprehensive care and support to patients and relatives. We currently have 12 stations running from 07:00 hours until midnight Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday the unit is open from 07:00 - 18:30 hours. We also have haemodialysis units at Lower ground Royal Liverpool, Warrington, Halton and Broadgreen hospitals and there may be occasions when you will be asked to support at one of these clinics. Main duties of the job The role involves setting up the dialysis machines and stripping and cleaning dialysis machines after treatment. The post is open to applicants currently working as band 2 or band 3 health care assistants in a hospital setting who are interested in pursuing and developing a career within renal dialysis setting. Training at the dialysis clinic will be provided. You will be supported and trained under the supervision of our experienced and dedicated renal team. In addition there will be an opportunity to attend the Level 3 Health and Social Care module at Hugh Baird College if the successful applicant does not already hold this qualification.
