To assist the development of an effective sustainability team by conducting analysis of building sustainability measures throughout design stages. The successful candidate will support the analysis and delivery of sustainability metrics through reporting and accreditation schemes, and support the building physics engineering team with mechanical and electrical design solutions. Collaboration will be key to ensuring that projects fully meet the client’s requirements and that projects are delivered within budget and on programme.
Role Responsibility
Building Physics
* Deliver sustainability analysis and reporting.
* Carry out the following:
o BREEAM (various schemes)
o Embodied Carbon Analysis
o Sustainability Reporting
o Sustainability Frameworks
o NPF4 Planning Support
o LZCT feasibility studies
o Daylight Studies
o IESVE Support as required
* Work closely with clients and design teams to provide optimal building design solutions through iterative and parametric simulations.
General
* Work with the project team to develop a detailed brief of their mechanical and electrical building services requirements in relation to sustainability and energy efficiency measures and produce documentation which demonstrate clear understanding of the Client’s needs.
* Conduct clear and detailed options appraisals and produce reports for the project team and Client, justifying the recommendations made to ensure client sign-off of brief.
* Working together with colleagues to manage Rybka’s multidisciplinary offering, ensuring all internal aspects of the programme delivery are met.
* Develop effective working relationships with the wider design team (Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Structural and Civil Engineers, and others) to ensure the whole construction project delivers the client’s needs.
* Ensure the successful completion of the physical construction of the project by monitoring and reviewing on-site activity to ensure progress and quality.
* Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge of guidance, regulations, and standards.
* Responsibility for the delivery of sustainability services.
* Responsibility for supporting the delivery of appropriate certification and lodging of accredited reports and analysis
* Supporting the wider business with the delivery of mechanical and electrical design solutions
The Ideal Candidate
Qualifications
* Graduate qualification in either building services, architectural engineering or sustainability related degree is essential.
Experience & Technical Skills
* Working knowledge of IESVE software, preferably accredited.
* BREEAM knowledge, preferably accredited.
* Experience of a range of construction projects.
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience of operating in an ISO9001 Quality Management System.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and email.
* Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering systems.
* Appreciation and experience of the Technical Standards and relevant British Standards.
* Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and low carbon design.
* Knowledge of current planning legislative requirements.
