We work with a large network of brokers that send us customers looking for business finance. We’re looking for a Commercial Analyst with a passion for using data to support decisions and power our Broker channel strategy. The successful candidate will ensure we’re making smart decisions to help grow the channel and serve our broker network in the best possible ways. We’re looking for someone who is able to think outside of the box, brings a proactive, can-do attitude and has experience running their own projects.
About us:
We’re here because we believe in small businesses. We believe they deserve better than waiting weeks for a loan. And we believe it’s our job to help them grow.
We started in 2012 with these principles, and we hold true to them today – now that we’re one of the fastest-growing fintechs in Europe. In the time between, we’ve built the best tech platform in lending, won several awards and opened up £3.5 billion in loans to over 100,000 businesses.
So what’s next? Our mission now is to help one million businesses who need us. To do this, we’ll need new products and partnerships. But most of all, we’ll need smart, hands-on people to join us on the journey and get us to our goal.
Your mission:
Analysis: You'll be our key expert for both operational and strategic analysis within the Broker channel. For example, you'll delve into the return on investment (ROI) from our various operations, assess the conversion rates within our customer funnel, and support our strategy team with randomised controlled trials. You'll also spot emerging trends and opportunities for improvement, and design insightful metrics that provide us with valuable understanding.
Data Infrastructure: You'll be responsible for building and nurturing the data and reporting infrastructure essential for your analysis. Using BI tools, you'll skillfully translate complex data into clear and accessible reports for the wider team. Since we love experimenting, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our data remains reliable and helping us make well-informed decisions.
Cost Tracking: You'll play a significant role in tracking costs, ensuring the Broker team manages expenditures effectively, and accurately reflecting these costs in your ROI analyses.
Support: You'll be the friendly point of contact for the Broker team when they need timely reports, clarification on data fields, or technical advice. You'll handle investigations and fixes with a supportive approach, and where necessary, you'll collaborate with tech, analytics, and strategy teams to resolve issues.
Documentation: We value excellent documentation: whenever new internal processes are established or reports are created or updated, you'll make sure that clear and thorough documentation is crafted and maintained.
Requirements:
* Experience working in a top-tier strategy consultancy or a strategic role at a tech or finance company.
* Proven ability or a strong desire to implement findings from your analysis; we need a ‘doer’ who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working across the business to see your work come to fruition.
* Ability to distil complex information into key points so that it is succinct and engaging in both written and verbal forms.
* A team player with a balance of confidence, humility, and enthusiasm.
* Someone with a strong growth mindset: all of the skills and behaviours you need to succeed are learnable. Some will take more time than others, so perseverance is also key.
* Strong analytical skills, we live and breathe data. Experience with BI Tools (Looker, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik or other similar tools will be very useful).
* An excellent communicator that will proactively keep stakeholders up-to-date, and can craft valuable documentation to boost collaboration with the wider team.
* A passion for helping small businesses thrive - belief in our mission is important!
The salary:
We expect to pay from £35,000 - £55,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.
