About the Opportunity We are currently looking for a Principal Electrical and Building Services Engineer to join the team in Birchwood, with experience in the nuclear (or other regulated) industry. The role will be to support the EC&I Responsible Engineer in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering design work that achieves safety, functional and business requirements throughout the design phases. The role will also involve working with engineering teams to deliver specific packages of work and therefore requires a strong and successful interface with the Integrated Design Team and other project functions. The work will require regular interface with site-based stakeholders and other disciplines therefore travel to the Sellafield site will be necessary from time to time. Project Detail: The project is to design and build a waste receipt facility (SWMRF) but also includes the pre-construction activities to divert services which are located or pass through the planned construction area to allow remediation of the land in preparation for the construction phase. These services from an EC&I perspective are; HV Cabling, LV Cabling, BT Telephone and Fibres, Security Systems & Control Cabling Responsibilities You should be able to demonstrate most (but not necessarily all) of the following competencies: - Lead teams including a range of experience levels and communicate with both technical and non-technical disciplines. - Estimate, organise and report to schedule. - Define requirements at concept level, flowing down to detailed design. - Produce and maintain key deliverable documents/reports, risk assessments, method statements, calculations, schedules, etc. to programme and of appropriate quality. - Design fit for purpose cable route infrastructure/plant layouts that can be safely installed and populated - Produce a range of electrical deliverables such as single line diagrams, cable block diagrams, cable schedules, lighting, and small power circuits, earthing schemes etc. - Ensuring all relevant standards, instructions and specifications are applied. - Checking of other designers' deliverables & support the CE&I design team in meetings and reviews - Can liaise and coordinate with other design disciplines and plant engineering as necessary in the production of preliminary and detail design deliverables. Here's What You'll Need: - Experience in a similar role and should ideally be an Incorporated/Chartered Engineer or be working towards gaining professional status (Experience will be considered). - Design Experience in accordance with the IET 18th edition (BS7671) or lower. - Conversant with existing CAE tools (e.g. Auto CAD, Navisworks, AVEVA E3D, Trimble, Dialux etc). - Highly motivated & self driven - Able to influence and develop design strategies. - Collaborative Leader. - Advocate of safety and security practices/ processes Our Culture Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity.
