About the role
The primary purpose of the position is to lead the enhancement of Parks Victoria's practice for regulatory approvals. Based on having extensive knowledge of regulatory approval frameworks, this role will focus on:
1. Leading the progression of a quality management system for Parks Victoria's regulatory approvals.
2. Developing processes, procedures, decision frameworks and other tools to support the organisation comply with planning and environment regulatory approvals.
3. Providing leadership and authoritative advice to ensure relevant legislation, policies and procedures and best management practices have been taken into consideration during program and project planning practice, such as guiding the development of project approvals strategy.
4. Fostering productive relationships with internal stakeholders / specialist advisors, government partners, and with regulators to identify best practice applied processes and practical solutions.
5. Working with specialists within Parks Victoria and externally (where engaged) to provide strategic guidance in relation to delivering priority projects for Parks Victoria.
Broadly, the role is providing internal leadership to focus on improving practice to improve due diligence, decision-making efficiency and internal acumen around regulatory approvals.
We're looking for someone with:
1. Degree in planning, environmental science, land management or natural resource management or similar discipline is required.
2. Demonstrated experience and application of regulatory approvals legislation, frameworks and procedures.
3. Demonstrated experience and application of applying process improvements and change management relating to complex systems.
4. Demonstrated experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
5. Demonstrated experience of project coordination and / or management of multiple competing projects.
6. A thorough understanding of Victorian legislation and land management principles.
