Project Archivist (Cataloguer) £29,811 pa plus excellent benefits (£37,264 FTE) London WC1 28 hours per week 6 month fixed-term contract The Project Archivist (Cataloguer) is an important role for the College as you will appraise, catalogue, repackage and promote the records of the National Reyes Syndrome Foundation, a medium sized archival collection comprising principally paper records. Reporting to the Head of Information Governance, you will organise and catalogue the collection in Axiell Collections, meeting ISAD(G) standards, identifying and digitising material of significant interest. As Project Archivist (Cataloguer), you will develop promotional material for the collection, such as blogs and write content for the RCPCH website and social media, also taking the lead on writing an article for possible publication in an academic journal. With a professional qualification in Archives and Records Management, you should have excellent preservation and repackaging skills and knowledge of archives and records management standards such as ISAD(G), ISO 15489 and MoReq. Experience of working in a cataloguing role and of using Axiell Collections or similar cataloguing software is essential. You should have excellent IT skills, with thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) being able to work with minimal supervision and manage own workload, taking responsibility for balancing priorities and achieving results. Experience of cataloguing charity/health-related organisational records would be desirable. This role will be primarily office based. As the project advances there may be some opportunity for home working. The National Reye’s Syndrome Foundation (NRSF) was founded on 10 August 1983 with the object of providing funds for research into the cause, treatment, cure and prevention of Reye’s syndrome and Reye-like illnesses, to inform both the public and medical communities and to provide support for parents whose children have suffered from these diseases. The NRSF has been part of the college since 2012. More information can be found on the Reye Syndrome website.
