Join Sulzer Leeds as a Project Quality Engineer, where you will support the Quality and Projects departments by completing quality plans and specialized procedures. Your role will be critical in ensuring the timely delivery of client projects, handling quality activities, issues, and dispositions while supporting broader business operations.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
* Act as the key quality person for allocated projects.
* Ensure Sulzer's compliance with client specifications, addressing quality processes including painting, material testing, NDT, European Directives, hazardous area certification, and supplier qualification.
* Attend client meetings to resolve quality issues.
* Provide input on quality requirements for tenders and create tender Inspection & Test Plans.
* Review quality-related sections within supplier quotations and support procurement as needed.
* Engage with vendors to complete project-related welding documentation in line with specifications.
* Develop and track Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans for projects.
* Review vendor Inspection & Test Plans and other documentation for compliance.
* Complete non-destructive testing, paint procedures, and other specialist procedures.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* We seek candidates with experience in complex manufacturing or engineering projects, particularly those knowledgeable in welding, painting, or NDT processes. This role is not suited for those from a typical Quality NCR or Systems background.
* A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related sector.
* Knowledge of international and industry material standards (e.g., ASTM).
* Understanding of quality processes and procedures.
* Familiarity with NDT and material mechanical and metallurgical testing processes.
* Basic understanding of welding processes.
* Working knowledge of SAP.
