Network Maintenance Operator
Edin & Lothians (Geog)
Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.
How’s this for job satisfaction: at Scottish Water we look after Scotland's most precious natural resource. From source to tap, we are guarding Scotland’s reputation for refreshingly pure water, and caring for our environment at the same time.
Sounds good? We are looking for motivated people to join our Water Response team, working in the Tweed area which covers Edinburgh, Lothian’s, and the Borders.
What you’ll do
1. Your number-one priority is resolving customer issues. You’ll take control of any situation, investigate problems, and come up with solutions that make customers happy – always making sure they’re kept up to date.
2. You’ll also carry out routine repairs and maintenance on water network infrastructure, as well as plant, equipment, and vehicle checks, while prioritizing health and safety.
3. Accurate reports are essential, so you’ll be across reporting systems for measuring performance and productivity. You will participate in a 1 in 5 standby rota for out-of-hours work.
What you’ll bring
1. Self-motivated and eager to contribute to team goals.
2. Basic IT skills for using digital equipment and apps.
3. Report writing skills to communicate clearly and accurately.
4. A full, clean driving licence is non-negotiable.
5. Experience with HGVs or 180/360 excavators and cable avoidance tools is advantageous.
6. Understanding of health and safety principles for site working is beneficial.
