The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social researcher to work closely with the research team in a proactive and hands-on manner and with students in a confident yet sensitive manner. The post-holder will engage with the project team, including the responsibility to report on findings and participate in regular meetings with the Principal and Co-Leads.
The Research Fellow will work on the University-funded project (PTAS) to examine commuter students’ experiences of assessment. The post-holder will:
· Conduct a secondary analysis of university administrative data relating to the degree outcomes of commuting students
· Conduct focus groups of commuting students and non-commuting students to explore their experiences of assessment
· Conduct interviews with commuting students about their experiences of assessment.
· Analyse and write up the data in an accessible report
· Contribute to a range of dissemination activities
This role is part time (17.5 hours per week) and fixed term (6 months). This role is Grade UE07 £40,247 to £47,874 per annum (pro rata). Due to grant budget it is expected that appointments would only be to a maximum of UE07 Step 2 - £40,247 to £41,421 per annum, pro rata.
