We are looking for a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with strong phonics expertise to support early literacy development within our school. We are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality classroom support, with a particular focus on phonics instruction. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to enhance students' reading, writing, and spelling skills, delivering targeted phonics interventions and supporting children of all abilities, including those with additional needs. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of systematic synthetic phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc., Jolly Phonics, Letters and Sounds). Provide small-group and one-to-one phonics interventions to accelerate progress. Assist in the assessment and tracking of phonics progress, identifying areas for improvement. Adapt teaching strategies to support pupils with SEN needs. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. Assist with general classroom duties, behaviour management, and pastoral care. Essential: ✔️ Experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting. ✔️ Phonics training and experience delivering phonics-based learning (e.g., Read Write Inc., Jolly Phonics, Letters and Sounds). ✔️ Ability to support pupils with different learning needs, including SEND and EAL learners. ✔️ Strong communication and teamwork skills. ✔️ A passion for helping children develop confidence and independence in learning. Desirable: ➕ Relevant TA qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant). ➕ Experience with intervention programs for early literacy. ➕ Knowledge of KS1 and EYFS curriculum
