GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join a dynamic team at a client school in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with students who need support in managing their behaviour and social interactions, helping them to succeed both academically and personally. Whether you are looking for a full-time or part-time arrangement, we are flexible and willing to accommodate the right candidate.
Job Summary: As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through their challenges, promoting positive behaviours, and fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. Your efforts will help students build the skills they need to engage effectively in their education and improve their overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and group support to students exhibiting challenging behaviours, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and attention.
* Help implement personalised behaviour plans, focusing on promoting positive behaviour and enhancing students' learning experiences.
* Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to provide consistent, tailored support across the school, ensuring all students are included and supported.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, encouraging students to actively participate in lessons and activities.
* Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to both teachers and parents to track behavioural and academic development.
* Encourage the development of essential skills, including social skills, emotional resilience, and conflict resolution strategies to help students succeed in and out of the classroom.
* Assist in maintaining a safe and positive classroom atmosphere, contributing to a space where students feel secure, respected, and motivated to learn.
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting students with challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively.
* A proactive and compassionate approach to working with students.
* A commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
